Memphis, TN – April 23, 2017 –<\/strong> The Center for Black Equity<\/span><\/p>\n

(CBE) has announced its recognition of The Cathedral<\/span><\/p>\n

Foundation, Inc.’s Tri-State Black Pride as the official Black<\/span><\/p>\n

Pride for Memphis, TN. The decision followed an extensive<\/span><\/p>\n

four-month review of The Cathedral Foundation, Inc.\u2019s 501c3<\/span><\/p>\n

organization and is based on factors of Capacity, Community<\/span><\/p>\n

Support, and Commitment to the mission and values of CBE.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are honored to take over the work that Terryl Buckner<\/span><\/p>\n

has done for the last 24 years with Memphis Black Pride,<\/span><\/p>\n

now known as Tri-State Black Pride, and to be endorsed by<\/span><\/p>\n

the Center for Black Equity,\u201d says Dr. Darnell Gooch, Jr.,<\/span><\/p>\n

founder of The Cathedral Foundation, Inc.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Cathedral Foundation, Inc.’s inaugural Tri-State Black<\/p>\n

Gay Pride weekend will take place June 15-18, 2017. Its<\/span><\/p>\n

mission is to showcase unity and pride by promoting<\/span><\/p>\n

equality, inclusion, HIV\/AIDS awareness, health care,<\/span><\/p>\n

education, outreach, art, and culture of the Mid-South\u2019s<\/span><\/p>\n

LGBTQ community and allies.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are looking forward to ending the stigma, showing that<\/span><\/p>\n

we are one, and spreading the love,\u201d says Davin Clemons,<\/span><\/p>\n
