Like many millennials, she’s searching for her purpose and trying to get anything to stick, until an HIV diagnosis rocks her already shaky world.

POZ ROZ takes place a few years after Roz’s HIV diagnosis as she attempts to re-enter the world she disappeared from. Her goal is to begin a new life as a confident, sexual, unapologetic, and unashamed HIV+ Black woman. Roz’s naivety in thinking her friends, family, and lovers will accept her newfound situation with open arms, causes her to question everything she knew about life, love, and being undetectable.

POZ ROZ is grounded in its message about sexual health in the Black community and aims to drop stigmas associated with STDs. Series creator and director, Carlton Jordan says: “It’s important to have raw and relatable discussions about sexual liberation along with health so we can remove stigmas, which will ultimately lead to healthier lives for everyone. POZ ROZ opens the door to this conversation and humanizes a circumstance that many people still fear and misunderstand through comedy and authenticity. I hope this project sparks these types of conversations that make us a smarter, more empathic and connected community.”

POZ ROZ boast an all black and inclusive crew behind the scenes as well as in front of the camera. The Series is produced by Angela Burris and Natasha Ward. Executive Producers James McKnight, Vanessa McKnight, Malachi Rivers and Robyn Jones.

Coordinated by the Strategic Leadership Council, National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day is observed each year on February 7 to increase HIV education, testing, community involvement, and treatment among black communities.

POZ ROZ is slated to premiere in 2019.

THE CAST

At the helm of POZ ROZ is “Love Handles” actor Chauntae Pink who plays the lead role of Rozzlyn Mayweather.
