why do black prides matter?

The 5th Annual Pride is committed to educating the general public about why BLACK PRIDE EVENTS MATTERS. This year has yielded some different results but the struggle continues for Black Queer folks to gain equal footing and access to funds to provide for themselves. Black Pride Events are proudly hosted to dismantle the culture of white supremacy. Black Pride events offers an opportunity for the dominate white entities to implement their diversity, equity, and inclusion statements.

Despite the refusal from many of the Fortune 500 company’s to show up for us during PRIDE celebrations we still make it happen. Each year TUV Magazine publishes a PRIDE Issue to celebrate the diversity and magic of people who are often marginalized yet appropriated.

Meet some of our features in this issue and make sure to check out the Virtual Issue under the “Current Issue Tab.”
